About INSPIRE
INSPIRE is a one-day civic engagement institute dedicated to fostering leadership and social responsibility among high school students across Massachusetts. Presented by the Massachusetts Teachers Association in partnership with Team Harmony, this institute aims to inspire the next generation of leaders to actively engage in their communities and address the social issues that matter most.
Objectives:
Education & Training: Provide students with the skills and knowledge to become effective advocates, organizers, and change-makers.
Social Issue Awareness: Raise awareness of critical social issues such as educational justice, school violence, environmental protection, women's rights, and racial harmony.
Action Plan Development: Empower students to create and implement action plans to address these issues in their schools and communities.
Networking & Collaboration: Foster connections between student leaders, educators, and organizations working towards social change.
Participation Goals:
We aim to recruit 100 teams from high schools across the state, each consisting of four student leaders and one teacher serving as a coach. Schools may register up to 3 teams of 4 students and 1 teacher/coach. This initiative will bring together a diverse group of 500 participants, all committed to making a difference in their communities.
