Student Advisory Council
The INSPIRE Student Advisory Council, composed of seven high school students, has been instrumental in shaping the INSPIRE: Massachusetts Youth Leadership Institute. Their diverse perspectives have ensured the program reflects participants' needs through valuable feedback, innovative activity suggestions, and active promotion within their communities. Serving as ambassadors, they will also support event logistics and engagement, showcasing the power of youth leadership in creating impactful experiences. We extend our deepest gratitude to the council members for their dedication and invaluable contributions to this event.

Alivia
Hello, my name is Alivia and I have just turned 17. I am a senior and I like to think of myself as funny, intelligent, kind, family oriented and extremely loving. I have been both an activist and a teacher at a daycare center for 5 years now and I’ve loved every moment of it. I started getting into activism after having a lot of rules at my school that were negatively affecting my friends and peers, so I decided to change them. I was one of the first students to organize a student-led counsel and meet with the PTA, principal, and superintendent in order to develop a better curriculum for the school handbook. I’ve joined this program with hopes of learning and furthering my education while also sharing what I know. I’m so excited to start!

Connor
I’m Connor, I am 17, soon to be 18, and a Senior at Haverhill High School in the Classical Academy. I am a member of the Spring Crew team and the National Art Society. I would define myself as an artist, which is central to who I am and what I want to do in the world. I also have a passion for literature and history. I am currently working on college applications to pursue a degree in Art Education.
I wouldn’t necessarily define myself as a leader but rather a very solid cog in the wheel and someone willing to stand-up and speak out against things I feel are wrong, especially misunderstanding and hating on people expressing their truth. I consider myself a compassionate person and try to be fair and show respect to others as human beings all just trying to make their way. See you all at INSPIRE! -

Mackena
My name is Mackena, but my friends call me Bella or Kena. I was born in the United States and raised in Kenya. I am a senior in high school, and I would love to study political science and international relations in college to hopefully do one day work in Congress or the UN. I am interested in worldly, political affairs as well as debating on different topics, which is why I would like to go down this career path. I like to get involved with as many extracurricular activities as possible, and I love to crochet or read a book in my free time. Thank you for getting to know me! 🙂
